Neuro - Relates to the brain and what happens in your mind.

Linguistic - Relates to the language and how you may use it.

Programming - Relates to Patterns of behaviour which you learn and repeat.

NLP is basically about controlling others mind, get them to think of something, connect something to another and even make people react another way. You'll see NLP every where, Meetings, Commercials, posters and even when you have a normal conversation there is form of NLP. Big companies use NLP for you to connect thier product with something you like ex. You may connect Football and premier league with the bank company Barclays. also you may think of excitement (adrenalin), hot blonde women in black leather suits, big Explosions, engine sounds and Coca Cola Zero in the same thought because of this commercial:

The humankind is a pack animal, and by instinct we do what others do. you may have discovered that if you stand in a big group or just speaking to another person, the individual starts to react like the one that are talking (the one the group pay attention to) they match and mirror what the person are doing. You don't even have to speak ex. you wait on the bus, you change the way you stand, and the person besides you in some ways mirrors your movement. if you are aware of this you can control how other Breath, stand, how open their eyes should be and even make them like you or dislike you because of the way your body language. NLP are used by most policemen, hospital people for you to calm down, without you even knowing it, ex. if there had been an accident like a car accident, you are in shock, and therefore you have to speak with a paramedic, they breath slowly and without you know it you'll after a few minutes will be as calm as the paramedic.

NLP is simply to be aware of your own instincts and use them on others.

It is used everywhere, to program your mind.
